During 2017 Springlake gained national attention, receiving a number of prestigious housing awards. The most recent of these coming at the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s (UDIA) national awards in February, which named the Springlake Hampton Cottage the best affordable home in Australia.
For anyone who has recently visited Springlake, these stunning homes with their imposing white façade and Long Island inspired style, are pretty hard to miss.
Designed and built in collaboration with Gasparin Homes, it’s not surprising that they have won awards, but what might be unexpected is that they are winners in the affordable housing category. A two-storey home that offers affordability without compromising on style and quality.
You’ll find a few of them already dotted around the streets of Springlake, with a limited number planned for future releases. And that is at the heart of the Springlake design. A distinct diversity of homes to fit all lifestyles, reflective of the Springlake neighbourhood and the wide variety of block sizes available.
Since day one we’ve talked about Springlake being a place where people are spoilt for choice, and it’s exactly what we’re delivering, which is a big part of why we are being acknowledged with these great awards.
The award we are most proud of was being named the best development in SA in late 2017 by the South Australian UDIA.
Everything we’ve done at Springlake has been based on two principles: capturing the best of the Adelaide Hills lifestyle and offering extensive housing choice to residents.
We’ve worked really hard to make the most of the existing natural landscape, retaining the majority of established gum trees, integrating parks and play spaces for residents to enjoy, and investing in the lake and central gardens as a real focal point of the community.
We’re also continuing to offer a wide variety of different housing options to suit different families and budgets. We have very large traditional and parkland style blocks where families can build a big home complete with pool and veggie garden, as well as spacious terrace homes on compact blocks for those wanting a lower maintenance lifestyle, and a great variety in between.
Of course we are extremely proud to have won these awards, but the real testament comes from the residents of Springlake, who feel proud to call it home.
